Atelier Parisien d’Urbanisme (APUR)

The Paris Urban Planning Agency (Apur) is an association created by the Paris Council in 1967, governed by the 1901 French law.

Apur aims to document, analyse and develop prospective strategies about the urban and social evolutions via:

  • a tool for the planning and development policies for Paris and its metropolitan area
  • a help for the implementation of the Greater Paris
  • a platform to exchange, disseminate and work for the actors of Paris and its metropolitan area : public institutions, local authorities, citizens


The missions of Apur are defined every year in a work program that is divided in 4 subjects:

  • Data collection and maps
  • Research about eight subjects: Cities and urban patterns/environment and networks/public space and mobility/social/habitat and housing/economy, employment,business, tourism and trades/supporting big projects of the metropolis
  • International studies in the framework of international cooperation between local authorities
  • Intern dissemination, for our partners and then for the public
