The Mexican association of municipal planning institute (AMIMP) is an association that was created on December 15th, 2003. Its goal is to represent and defend the interests of the Institutes of City Planning (IMPLANES) to the organizations that also deal with this subject. AMIMP is composed by 57 organizations that are gathered in three geographical regions (North, Center and South). This association was designed as a forum that allows dialogue, technical exchange about formation, urban and participative planning, in order to boost each institute. It was created like a consultative organ to certificate and assess the activities of the IMPLAN.
Therefore, the mission of AMIMP is to make IMPLANES responsible organizations for integrated planning, through the exchange of experiences with various public and private organizations, by collecting, updating and generating the information that ease the decision making process on local and regional levels.The Mexican association of municipal planning institute also aims to certify the vision of city planning through the inputs of the sustainable development.
